Information about the Course:
This unit covers the competency required to confine small workplace emergencies such as small fire that can be controlled using a nearby fire extinguisher or a fire hose reel.
Target Audience:
Existing workers in any industry may benefit from this training as it is not industry specific.
Maximum Number of Participants: 15 participants per session
Prerequisites: There are no formal entry requirements for this unit.
Award Issued:
Participants who successfully complete this short course will be awarded the Certificate of attainment.
Re-certification: Recommended every year as per the AS 3745-2010
Course Duration: 3 hours (theory & practical session inkling assessment)
Course Content:
- Theory Practical
- Principles of fire Use of fire extinguisher and fire hose reel
- Classification of fire
- Principles of fire spread
- Stages of fire development
- Principles of fire extinguishment
- Different types of extinguishing mediums
- Fire suppressive equipment (various fire extinguishers and hose reel)
- Safety procedures when fighting fire
Assessment:
Assessment will be carried out throughout the duration of this course using written test & practical demonstration (operational techniques for each suppressive equipments)
Instructor: This course will be delivered by experienced Fire Service Trainers
Training Location:
This course will be done on-site at your workplace or at the respective Fire Station
